Maine’s Criminal Justice System –

How Restorative?

SUNDAY, MARCH 22, 2020   (snow date: 3/29/20)
2-4 pm • Jewett Hall Auditorium, UMA

A professor of criminal justice studies, a high-level  administrator of the prison system and a criminal defense attorney have been invited to participate in the forum. Speakers will address issues such as the roles that the Departments of Corrections and the Human Services play in the program, how the justice system affects poor versus wealthy people, and problems in the victim/perpetrator relationship.  Above all, people will want to know how well programs to prepare persons on the inside to deal successfully with life on the outside are working.

UMASC forums are free and open to everyone.  Save the date; The Forum on the Future Committee will keep UMASC students informed as the forum shapes up.
