Newfoundland, at the edge of the North American Continent, has a wonderful combination of forest, seacoast, and wild mountain scenery. It has millions of seabirds, two UNESCO World Heritage Sites, giant icebergs plus a modern capital city. Learn about the ancient inhabitants and meet the friendly Neufies as we journey east across the island on the TransCanada Highway in the first half of the program and north along the Viking Trail in the second half.

Elizabeth Reinsborough is a biologist, educated at Queens University, Belfast, UK., with a Masters degree from London University.  She is a member of the Senior College Board and has taught courses on The National Parks and Cities of the World.  Her passion is geography and budget travelling.  She and her Maine born husband, who takes most of the pictures, have spent parts of five summers in Newfoundland and both say they would love to go back again.
