Looking at Addiction
This course offers a look at the history of addiction treatment as well as a better understanding of the disease itself based on the most current medical and science based information. We explore such topics as the addicted brain, the natural use of substances, recovery language, recurrence(relapse), current treatment approaches, and a history of the 12 step approach towards addiction.

Robert Creamer has a B.A. in education from U.M.A. He is a published author in the field of addiction, as well. He has been working in the field of addiction recovery for over 50 years, in a number of capacities, including volunteer work with a number of agencies. His primary focus is on a better understanding of addiction as a medical disease and how best to treat it. He is a person in recovery.
