As we observe the 250 Anniversary of our founding, this class will look at a variety of heroes who seldom get mentioned in the history books – John Laurens, Sybil Ludington, Stokely Carmichael, Allan Spear, Jeanette Rankin, Adelbert Ames, William Lloyd Garrison, Dorothea Dix, Mercy Otis Warren, and Phyllis Wheatley. Patriots all!

Unsung Heroes
Mike Bell loves American history! With a master’s degree in both history and teaching, and an undergrad degree in political science, he has enjoyed a varied career in teaching and historical interpretation. Mike serves on the board of the Washburn/Norlands Living History Center. He is currently the president of the Chamberlain Civil War Round Table.
