In this course we will examine the Grant Standard tools that get us to the right contract when we have identified a major suit fit and hold the combined strength for game or slam.

We will review rebids the opener can use to show extra strength or special distribution–Reverse, Jump Shift, and Opener’s 2NT. We will also discuss bids the responder can use to describe a special fit or extra strengthLimit Raise, Jacoby 2NT, and Responder’s Jump Shift. If there is time, we will introduce Texas Transfer and Splinter Bids.

The course material is geared to the skill level of advancing players familiar with the guidelines for opening and responding in a major suit—whether the opponents are competing or not.

If you are a beginning player interested in observing this class,
