What’s stopping you from wearing hearing aids?
Are your hearing aids spending more time in a drawer than in your ears?   This is a three-part short course that you might find very helpful.  We’ll talk realistically about hearing loss, hearing aids, and their impact on your relationships, cognition, and even your ability to thrive in life.   Spouses and partners are also encouraged to attend.
Class outline:Â Three (two hour) classes will cover the following areas:
Class 1. About your hearing loss—how we hear with our ears and brain.
Class 2. Hearing aids—a survey of technology and features.
Class 3. Beyond hearing aids—essential tips for successful listening

Eric C. Risch, M.S. is a graduate from the University of Maine in Farmington and has a Master of Science in Audiology from the University of Rhode Island. He was a clinical audiologist at the Togus VA Audiology Department until his retirement in 2021. His areas of specialization are aural rehabilitation with emphasis on tinnitus treatment and communication counseling. He was also an adjunct instructor for University of Southern Maine, and presented numerous conference lectures and seminars on age and noise related hearing loss, tinnitus therapy, dual-sensory loss, digital hearing aids, and communication counseling.
