Classroom is in Jewett 114 except May 5 when the class will meet in the Farm House conference room.

You know you have these stories bubbling up inside you waiting to be written down. These can be personal, family, or even fiction. You need an opportunity to sit down and do it. I am offering Writers’ Workshop two times this spring, both on Mondays, one at 10 am and one at 1 pm. I am hoping that each will be a mixture of new and returning attendees. I am using The Way of the Fearless Writer: Mindful Wisdom for a Flourishing Writing Life, by Beth Kempton. I will choose segments to present to the class. I also have a series of prompts from the book and from other sources that we will write to 2 or 3 times a class. I provide a Writer’s Binder with a kit for new students. We will have opportunities to share some of our writing in class. At the last two classes, I am hoping that each attendee will read a final piece that can be written or started in class or something else you are inspired to write. These final pieces will be printed in a chapbook. I see myself as a facilitator, encourager, and cheerleader. I write to the prompts along with the group. I do not collect and correct your work. The final piece is the only one that needs self- editing, with maybe more than one draft.

Each class will have a limit of 10 and will be both in person and on Zoom.
