Spanish 2.25

Instructor: Diane Dionne

Wednesdays • 8 classes • 3/22-5/10 • 1:00-3:00 PM

Class size 2-8 students
3 seats remaining
Location: Jewett 295
This is an in-person class. A zoom class is also available on Mondays.

This in-person class is a continuation of Spanish 2.0. We will begin with Chapter 25 of the Basic Spanish text from McGraw-Hill’s Practice Makes Perfect series. Our reading book will be “Halloween vs Día de los Muertos” by Veronica Moscoso, from the Veromundo Spanish Easy Reader series (Level 2). Ideally, students will obtain both books by the first day of class. (They are available on Amazon or from Barnes and Noble.) Students will write original material to share with the class and converse in Spanish. We will also listen to audio featuring native Spanish speakers. Class assumes basic knowledge of Spanish grammar (i.e., sentence structure and present tense verbs) and familiarity with past tense verbs.

Classroom

Diane Dionne received her BA in education from Illinois State University with a French major and a Spanish minor. She received her MA in French, also from ISU. She also completed a 6-week summer program for American teachers of Spanish at Instituto Tecnologico de Monterrey, Mexico. Diane has had many wonderful opportunities to experience family life and local culture with friends and acquaintances in Mexico and Spain.
