Forty years after he became president, Ronald Reagan’s legacy is more hotly debated than ever. How did this hardscrabble midwestern kid make it to Hollywood, Sacramento and then, to the White House? This class will look into Reagan’s influences, his friends and family, and his ability to capture the spirit of what many call the “American Dream”.
ADDITIONAL SPECIAL CLASS:
There will be a virtual tour from the Reagan Museum at Eureka College in Illinois on Wednesday, March 30 from 10:15-12:15 at the Klahr Center (room 103) and on Zoom.
Mike Bell loves American history! With a master’s degree in both history and teaching, and an undergrad degree in political science, he has enjoyed a varied career in teaching and historical interpretation. Mike appeared on a History Channel special about PT 109, and for over 20 years, he has portrayed many historical figures, including Butch Cassidy and Sam Houston.
