As UMaine undergraduates, the 5 Right brothers develop 4th-grade level mental arithmetic to solve financial problems. The four eldest contributed shortcuts that the youngest applies to real-life:
1) Saving for retirement
2) Earmarking savings for retirement expenses
3) Estimating the estate
4) Revocable trust funds for heirs
5) Planning for assisted living, etc.
The goal is to understand issues and improve communications with your current advisors.
PowerPoint lectures during the first hour will be followed by problem-solving in small groups after the break. Financial calculators (to check answers) and class notes are provided.
