You have so many stories and experiences to tell about, but it’s hard to find the time and incentive to write them down. Here is that opportunity! If this is your first time for this class or if you are returning, I invite you to join this supportive, encouraging group. This fall we will use Peter Elbow’s work, especially from A Community of Writers: A Workshop Course in Writing that he co-wrote with Pat Belanoff. There will be opportunities to write personal and family memories, some opinions, some fiction, and other ways of expressing yourself.
This is new material that this class hasn’t used before. At the end of the course, we will share a final piece in class and will print that piece as well as some works in progress in a chapbook that I will send to each one in the class. In lieu of tuition, students are asked to purchase the textbook and any supplies.
